The Farmer’s Wife was made in 1927 and released in 1928.

The Farmer's Wife is based on the play by Eden Phillpotts, on of the biggest stage success in England since the war. The idea for the film was to capitalize on a very successful rustic stage comedy.
Maurice Yacowar calls it "may be his most underrated film".
